Job purpose

The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for developing and supporting our infrastructure and deployment strategies & functions. This highly responsible position involves using established work procedures to analyse, design, develop, maintain, and troubleshoot our automated deployment infrastructure.
The role will be a part of the technology team and will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, installation, integration, and documentation of moderate to complex enterprise infrastructure solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities

A candidate is expected to execute the following duties & responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins to automate the build, test, and deployment processes.
  • Implement policies that ensure compliant and consistent deployment of cloud infrastructure.
  • Integrate diverse technologies in multiple environments to provide monitoring, alerting, and reporting of performance and costs.
  • Monitor and optimise system performance, ensuring high availability and scalability of all services.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system outages, and communicate findings for enhancing our current monitoring and alert tool chain, augmenting with new solutions as applicable.
  • Ensure security validation and vulnerability scans across the platform.
  • Develop and execute key cloud architectures that are technically optimised, operationally efficient, and cost-effective.
  • Work in an agile operations framework, balancing sprint-based work with daily operational needs.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for infrastructure and CI/CD processes.

Experience

  • 4+ years of experience working in Private/Public Cloud with direct experience writing scripts, deploying, and administering services including but not limited to cloud storage, messaging and queuing, network services, and database services.
  • 3+ years of experience working with CI/CD pipelines (Preferably using Jenkins).
  • 2+ years of experience working with containers, including Docker, Docker Compose, and Kubernetes.
  • 2+ years of Linux/Unix administration experience, including large-scale OS deployment and automation.
  • 2+ years of experience with HTTP servers (Nginx).
  • Worked in an international, distributed team.
  • Startup experience is an advantage.

Qualifications

Minimum bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Computer Science or a related field.
